The Atlanta Hawks have had several ups and downs throughout the course of the past five years or so.
They’ve alternated some promising seasons with some bad ones, and some believe it has had a lot to do with Trae Young.
Recently, the All-Star point guard addressed his reputation as a ‘coach killer,’ stating that he’s actually had pretty good relationships with both Lloyd Pierce and Nate McMillan.
He also talked about Quin Snyder and his plans for the future, and he went as far as to say that he believes they could win three or more championships with his guidance.
Young also said on the Draymond Green podcast that even if something happens with Snyder and people say it was because of him, he’s actually not looking past him, as he’s looking forward to being coached by him for a very long time.
The former Oklahoma Sooner has been tangled up in some ugly rumors over the past couple of seasons.
Some blamed him for the coaches’ carousel and stated that he didn’t get along with John Collins, who was recently traded to the Utah Jazz.
Truth be told, no one outside of that locker room and that organization knows for sure what did or didn’t happen between Trae and everybody else, and the franchise is clearly still committed to building a championship-contending team around him.
Snyder is a very good coach and he did quite well with young players, and there are reasons to be optimistic if you’re a Hawks fan.
