During his entire tenure in the NBA, Joel Embiid has only called the Philadelphia 76ers home.
But that could change in the future.
If a recent comment is any indication, Philadelphia fans should prepare to say goodbye to Embiid if things don’t get much better with the team.
Over the weekend, Embiid sat down for a Q&A and was asked about what’s next for him.
As shared by AJ Torres, Embiid said that he wants to win a championship “whether that’s in Philly or anywhere else.”
The inclusion of the phrase “or anywhere else” has Sixers fans on edge.

There is no doubt that Embiid is frustrated with where his team is at – again.
They recently had a strong regular season only to face injury and issues in the playoffs and once again fail to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
It feels like the team has been repeating history again and again over the last few years.
The front office immediately fired head coach Doc Rivers after their latest disappointing run so perhaps there is a chance that things will be better next year.
But what if they aren’t?
What if this drama with James Harden leads to a depleted roster and Embiid has even less support next year?
How much longer until he throws his hands in the air and demands a trade from his team?
In the video above, Embii states that it takes several good players on a team to win a ring.
Is that a sly dig at the rest of his squad?
Is his frustration not only with the front office but also with the men playing beside him?
Or was this just an innocent turn of phrase from Embiid?
How worried should Philadelphia fans be?
