We haven’t heard any recent news about James Harden leaving the Philadelphia 76ers.
Apparently, that is because the Sixers are driving a very hard bargain.
In fact, it might be too hard for other teams.
According to Kyle Neubeck, per NBACentral, the 76ers want an “All-Star-level” return for Harden.
Additionally, “Philadelphia’s position on a Harden trade has been described as ‘unreasonable’, by competing executives,’” according to Neubeck.

It sounds like Philadelphia is asking for a lot and they aren’t backing down.
Will this prohibit any deal from actually happening?
When it was first announced that Harden wanted to leave Philadelphia, many people thought a trade would come together quickly.
The Los Angeles Clippers emerged as the frontrunner to land Harden but nothing substantial has developed since initial murmurings at the start of free agency.
This is because the Sixers aren’t willing to accept anything less than an “All-Star-level return.”
They are content to sit on their hands and force Harden to remain in Philadelphia if a tantalizing deal isn’t presented.
This feels a lot like what happened with Ben Simmons in the recent past.
Simmons sat on the sidelines as the Sixers held onto him until the right package came along.
Ironically, that package included Harden from the Brooklyn Nets.
Inside reports have said that there is hope Harden changes his mind and decides to stick around in Philadelphia.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons why the 76ers are asking for so much.
Maybe they are making Harden nearly unattainable so that he changes his tune and stays with the team.
One thing is abundantly clear: the 76ers aren’t going to make this process easy for anyone except themselves.
