Madden 24 is slated to come out on August 18.
There have been several marketing events ahead of the launch, including “Madden Ratings Week,” happening from July 17-23.
This week features all of this year’s 99-overall players, the best rating one can achieve in the game.
The first 99-overall player to be officially announced was Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, per the game’s official Twitter.

Jefferson is the first player of the year to be given the 99 designation, which typically goes to around four athletes.
Last season, the four players to start the year at 99 overall were Davante Adams, Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett, and Trent Williams.
After this announcement was made, Jefferson expressed his excitement, tweeting: “Y’all have no idea what it means to be a 99 in Madden!”
Y’all have no idea what it means to be a 99 in Madden!! Since I was 7y/o I been creating my own player making him a 99 and now I don’t have to

He also added that he’s been playing the game for years, starting when he was seven years old.
Jefferson won the Offensive Player of the Year award in 2022 and was a finalist in MVP voting.
He was also a first-team All-Pro member last season, the first selection of his career.
Jefferson’s honors and accolades seem to be mounting, and he’s only been in the league for three seasons.
Will he be able to eclipse his already massive numbers from last season, bringing forth a stronger case for MVP?
While that remains to be seen, it appears that Jefferson is very content with this new honor.
