The NFL offseason has been quite the whirlwind thus far, with many veteran players on the move.

This period has also provided a lot of drama, particularly in the running back position.

Elite backs have been either cut or franchise tagged, which has led to an outcry from analysts and players alike, calling for a league-wide change.

Leonard Fournette was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in mid-March and is now in search of a new team.

According to Tom Pelissero, the New England Patriots recently hosted Fournette for a workout, as they look to potentially grow their running back room.

When Damien Harris moved on from the Patriots, he left behind a lot of potential for carries.

Rhamondre Stevenson led the team in carries last season, but Harris was the number-two back.

The Patriots have already been rumored to be interested in Dalvin Cook, and their visit from Fournette all but confirms these suspicions.

At 28 years old, does Fournette have enough left in the tank to contribute in a meaningful way to an NFL roster?

He only started nine games for the Buccaneers last year, appearing in 16.

In those 16 games, Fournette rushed for 668 total yards, totaling 3.5 yards per carry.

That was the second-lowest YPC total of his career, which could indicate that he’s slowing down.

However, that didn’t tell the whole picture of Fournette’s season, as he was heavily utilized in the passing game.

While his rushing numbers were down, he did have 523 receiving yards off 72 receptions, the highest yardage total of his career.

Which team, if any, will take a chance on Fournette?
