One of the most impressive players in the NFL last season was New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.
He was selected with the fourth overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft and has not disappointed.
As a rookie, Gardner established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in football.
He was named first-team All-Pro along with Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Also, his 20 passes defended led the NFL.
Almost every stat you can think of showed how good Gardner was last season.
He was even a Pro Football Focus darling, posting high scores in many metrics.
According to PFF, Gardner had a 90.0 coverage grade, which was the best in football.
Also, he had the second-lowest passer rating allowed at 53.9.

Gardner is now the number-one ranked corner and the 18th overall player this year, according to PFF.
Seeing what he will do for an encore this year will be fun.
Playing on the Jets did not give Gardner the publicity he deserved from fans across the league.
But the Jets will be one of the most-watched teams this upcoming season with the addition of Aaron Rodgers.
This upcoming season will be the best chance the Jets have to compete for a playoff berth in a while.
We have not seen them in the playoffs since 2010 and that is the expectation in New York this year.
It should surprise no one if Gardner is in the running for Defensive Player of the Year this season.
