The Carolina Panthers selected Bryce Young as the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft.

That was a pick many people expected them to make after trading up to get the first selection.

Young was an elite college quarterback leaving a strong legacy at Alabama.

He won a Heisman Trophy and established himself as an NFL prospect early in his college career.

But as we approached the draft people were looking for a way to knock Young.

The one issue that kept popping up was his lack of size.

At the NFL Combine he measured around 5-foot-10.

That makes him one of the smallest quarterbacks in the NFL.

He compares to Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson in that category.

Craig Carton seems to believe that Young cannot be a successful NFL pocket passer due to his size.

Should Bryce Young’s height be a concern for the Carolina Panthers?

While Young is taller than Carton gave him credit for, the size will be an issue.

Also, his small frame could give him some durability concerns.

Carton mentioned how Young will have a difficult time seeing over defenders.

Yet, the Panthers should have a plan for Young to succeed.

They can use his legs to get clearer throwing lanes and have him in shotgun formation.

Carolina knew what they were getting with Young when they picked him first overall.

It will be interesting to see how Young fares in his first season.

He will have plenty of eyes on him as the NFL world wants to see if his size hinders his play.
