It’s not unusual to see NBA stars take their talents to the Drew League.

However, it comes to a point in all players’ careers where they might feel like they’re too big of a star to play there.

But that wasn’t the case with Kobe Bryant, a man of the people and obviously one of the greatest superstars in the history of the game.

Bryant’s appearance at the Drew League was so shocking that even fellow NBA star DeMar DeRozan was surprised to see him there.

With that in mind, he revealed his favorite Kobe Bryant memory from the Drew League in his recent appearance on Uninterrupted’s Iman Amongst Men podcast.

DeRozan raved about how Kobe wanted to finish the game, even waiving off police officers who tried to get him out of the building for his own safety.

Instead, Bryant kept hooping, dropped 45 points and the game-winning shot, and then stood in the center of the court like the legend he was.

Kobe was a millionaire, a marquee player, and one of the biggest stars in the sports industry, but none of that mattered when he was on the court.

Whenever he had the ball in his hand, he was just that same kid determined to make a name for himself that entered the league straight out of high school.

There will never be another player like Kobe Bryant, but his legacy in sports and as an inspirational speaker will live on until the end of time.
