The Los Angeles Dodgers pulled off an impressive and improbable comeback on Tuesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, rallying from a 7-3 deficit to record an 8-7 walk-off win in 10 innings.

A key play in the game was made by right fielder Mookie Betts in the top of the 10th.

The score was tied at seven runs apiece when Bo Bichette lined a base-hit into right field.

Betts proceeded to fire a strike to the plate to barely nab Kevin Kiermaier and keep the score tied.

Interestingly, Betts actually didn’t start the game in right field, but rather at second base.

He just the third player over the last 50 seasons to record an outfield assist in two separate games that he had actually started at second base.

Sarah Langs of MLB.com pointed out this fact on Twitter.

this is the 2nd time this season Mookie Betts has recorded an outfield assist in a game he started at second base

The only other players to have two such games in a season are Skip Schumaker and Tony Phillips.

Phillips accomplished this feat in 1999, while Schumaker pulled it off in 2010.

Betts certainly showed off his arm on Tuesday when he made this impressive throw.

The speedy Kiermaier was breaking for home and almost made it in, but Betts’ throw landed in catcher Will Smith’s glove, and Smith dove to put the tag on Kiermaier and keep the game tied.

Ultimately, it set up a walk-off hit by James Outman in the bottom half of the 10th as the Dodgers completed their comeback and secured yet another win to remain four games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants in the National League West.
