In the past, a few athletically gifted superstars were able to play two sports and play them well, with Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders being prime examples of cross-sport professional athletes.

However, they played in the NFL and MLB, and even though that was incredibly impressive, mainly due to their success in both sports, no player has yet to play in the NBA and NFL.

Some notable professional basketball players that were great football players include Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Nate Robinson, and Charlie Ward.

Recently, Paul George made a case on his podcast that it is easier for a basketball player to make the transition to football rather than the other way around, but Richard Sherman begs to differ, even though San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk agrees with the Los Angeles Clippers superstar, via The Volume.

This kind of debate will never have a resolution with no way to really know the answer, but Sherman does have a point about physicality and how it is something that not every athlete can handle.

With the NBA being as soft as it is today, with less and less physicality, a strong case can be made that NFL players are superior and may be able to deal with the rigors of an 82-game season as opposed to what football players have to go through physically during their season.
