The Boston Celtics have been a very busy team during this NBA offseason, with the storied franchise coming one win short of making the NBA Finals for a second straight season and, as a result, making some drastic changes this summer to take the next step in 2023-24.
After making an All-NBA team, Celtics star Jaylen Brown became eligible for a supermax contract extension this summer, but it was unclear if the team was willing to give him that deal as there were rumblings that he could be traded.
Fortunately for Brown, Boston was more than willing to sign him to a new deal, as he inked the richest contract in NBA history, which is upwards of $300 million.
With Brown now in the fold for the foreseeable future in Boston, and a very wealthy man at the same time, a couple of his Celtics friends thought it was a good time to mess with him after he missed a couple of FaceTime calls, via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston.

As one of the most humble players in the NBA today, this was clearly a joke, and Brown obviously took it that way, as he admittedly said his phone was blowing up like never before after the news of his new contract became public knowledge.
From here on out, the real question is whether the Celtics made the right move in signing Brown to this massive extension and if it will result in the team reaching the mountaintop once again.
