Jaylen Brown is the NBA’s newest Mr. Money Bags, as the Boston Celtics just gave him a five-year contract extension that will pay him over $300 million.
It’s the biggest contract in NBA history, and some feel it was excessive given the fact that Brown is a very good but not elite player.
Still, he seems committed to living up to his new bag, and he also seems to be committed to being loyal.
He said that the expectation for the Celtics this coming season is to win, and that he wants to win with those who have been with him from the beginning, via NBC Sports Boston.

Until Brown agreed to his gargantuan new deal, there was speculation that he would leave Boston next summer when he would’ve become a free agent.
Instead, he and co-star Jayson Tatum are locked in for years to come.
Over the last couple of years, the Celtics have been legitimate championship contenders, but they have fallen short at the moment of truth.
In June 2022, they were the hottest team in the NBA, but after getting out to a 2-1 series lead in the NBA Finals, they lost three straight games and surrendered the world championship to Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
This past season, they trailed the Miami Heat, 3-0, in the Eastern Conference Finals, and they raced back to force a Game 7 at home.
Everything was seemingly in their favor — but they put forth an embarrassing dud, scoring just 84 points and getting blown out in front of their own fans.
The Celtics will look a lot different this fall, as Marcus Smart and Grant Williams have left while Kristaps Porzingis has arrived, and they will have to spend some time reconfiguring and figuring out how to win with their new supporting cast.
