After over a decade of loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers and refusing to ask the franchise to trade him after years of disappointment, superstar guard Damian Lillard has had enough of losing and wants to be moved to a winner this summer, with the Miami Heat being the top destination on his wishlist.
Although Lillard has been adamant about wanting to win a championship in Portland, this seemed to be inevitable as the team was unable to surround their superstar with enough talent to compete in the Western Conference.
Lillard reportedly hit a boiling point when he asked the team to trade the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft in hopes of bringing in some talented player to help him win moving forward.
Instead, the team drafted his replacement in Scoot Henderson, and that was enough for Lillard to head to the exit and put the team on the clock to trade him.
However, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, the Blazers may want to repair the relationship with Lillard in hopes that he’ll stay, which is obviously a drastic turn of events in this trade saga, via NBACentral.
Some people around the league believe Portland is trying to save their relationship with Damian Lillard

With Lillard clearly fed up with what has been going on in Portland over the last few years, it remains to be seen if he’ll stick to his trade request or have a change of heart to give it a shot with the Blazers one more time.
The Blazers likely aren’t liking the trade offers they’re being given and are going with another tactic, but it may backfire if Lillard is genuinely determined to leave the team this summer.
