With Justin Herbert signing a contract extension with the Los Angeles Chargers, it seems like the clock is ticking on the Cincinnati Bengals with Joe Burrow.
There’s no doubt that Burrow’s contract extension will most likely reset the market for quarterbacks’ contracts, either in length, guaranteed money, annual average value, or all of the above.
However, the team also needs to figure out what to do with several of their core pieces, including star WR Tee Higgins.
Nonetheless, Higgins doesn’t seem to be worried about any of that right now.
As pointed out by Charlie Goldsmith of Enquire, Higgins is in no rush to get a deal done.

There have been multiple reports of Burrow taking a page out of Tom Brady’s book and a similar approach to his contract negotiations.
Apparently, the former No. 1 pick would be willing to take a pay cut of some sort to allow the Bengals to keep the band together for as long as possible.
The Bengals have a Super Bowl-contending team and one of the most explosive and stacked offenses in the game.
Joe Mixon will be back in the backfield, and they’ll continue to be a perennial threat for as long as Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and — obviously — Ja’Marr Chase are out there running routes.
But as promising as the future is for them, their window could close sooner rather than later if they don’t manage their contract situations properly, so it shouldn’t take long before we get some more updates about this matter.
