We haven’t even reached the preseason yet, but the alarms have already sounded off in the New York Jets’ facilities.

Star WR Garrett Wilson couldn’t finish practice Thursday and headed to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury, leading to multiple reports and concerns among the fanbase.

Fortunately, Eric Allen of Jets 360 Productions reports that HC Robert Saleh told the media that the signs are all positive, and he’s expected to be ok.

Jets HC Robert Saleh says WR Garrett Wilson is getting his ankle checked out. ‘all indications are he’ll be ok.”

Corey Davis is dealing with a viral illness, so he didn’t practice.

He’s likely to undergo further testing, and the team won’t take any chances with their reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The Jets play the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, August 3, for the Hall of Fame Game, and we don’t expect to watch the former Ohio State Buckeyes star on the field.

Notably, Allen also reported that fellow WR Corey Davis is dealing with an illness, which is why he didn’t partake in today’s practice session either.

The Jets have plenty of depth at every position, so they can afford to have two of their primary pass-catchers on the shelf for now.

They need to make sure everybody’s healthy and ready to go when it actually matters, and they might err on the side of caution with their prized receiver, as he’s expected to have a prominent role in the passing game now that Aaron Rodgers is the new sheriff in town.
