The Dallas Cowboys finished the 2022 NFL Season with a 12-5 record, which was good enough for a playoff berth.
Despite making it to the postseason, the Cowboys had a first-round exit to the San Francisco 49ers, a game they lost heartbreakingly.
With heightened expectations, Micah Parsons has recently made a bold claim about this team.
“I think we are the top team in the NFC,” Parsons said via 105.3 The Fan, a sports talk show.
“I think we are the top team in the NFC. No one can beat you except yourself…We didn’t lose a Javon Hargrave, and then draft somebody. We have everybody across the board.”

Parsons expressed his belief in the continuity of their roster, saying, “We didn’t lose a Javon Hargrave and then draft somebody.”
This directly refers to the NFC champions from last year, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hargrave was one of the Eagles’ top defenders, but he has since signed a four-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Cowboys haven’t had a significant loss like that throughout the offseason, a primary reason for Parsons’ confidence in his team.
Will this team live up to their hype, both that Parsons has put out and the amount of fan support they have?
The Cowboys have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL but haven’t been able to materialize that talent into playoff success.
Parsons seems to believe that 2023 is the year for the Cowboys.
Even though the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl last year, they have lost a few pieces from their roster, including Hargrave.
If they have any early season slip-ups, the Cowboys could capitalize on that, hoping to get a leg-up on the divisional race.
