Earlier this week, superstar quarterback Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals let it be known that ongoing contract talks with the team would not keep him off the field during training camp, as he’s not overly concerned about when his new deal gets done.
Unfortunately for Burrow, the day after making these comments, the perennial Pro Bowler went down with a calf strain during practice with the team and had to be taken off the field on a cart leading to speculation that he had suffered a significant injury.
It was a scary sight for the Bengals and their fans, as there was no telling whether the injury would keep him out a considerable amount of time.
On Friday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor gave the media an update on the status of his superstar quarterback, saying that Burrow is expected to miss several weeks as a result of the calf strain, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Bengals’ HC Zac Taylor told reporters that he expects QB Joe Burrow to be sidelined “several weeks” due to his calf injury.

Although losing Burrow this early in the process is a costly blow for the Bengals, Cincinnati is lucky in the sense that the team will likely have him ready to start the 2023 NFL season.
Unlike Jalen Ramsey of the Miami Dolphins, who went down with a knee injury that required surgery, Burrow won’t have to miss considerable time unless there’s a setback in his recovery.
Ramsey, however, will be out until at least December after undergoing surgery on his knee, which is a big blow for the Dolphins and their hopes of being a dominant defense during the 2023 campaign.
