Over the past decade or so, NBA superstar LeBron James has started to make a strong case to be considered the greatest basketball player of all time, with four titles to his credit and a long list of accolades.
Recently, James made the GOAT debate that much more interesting by passing Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA’s All-Time Scoring List.
Abdul-Jabbar’s record was thought to be virtually unbreakable after it took him over two decades to rack up all those points, but James was able to cruise passed Kareem and further add to his career points.
The consensus among basketball fans is that former Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan is the GOAT, as he went undefeated in the NBA Finals, winning six titles during his career.
The debate starts to get heated when Jordan and LeBron are compared these days, but Tim Grover, who used to be Jordan’s trainer, came up with a non-basketball argument that’s brilliant, according to Talk Basket via NBA Central.
Michael Jordan’s trainer Tim Grover on Michael Jordan vs LeBron James:
“We’ve all heard stories about individuals getting robbed for their Jordans. Have you ever heard a story of anyone getting stuck for a pair of Brons?”

At this point, even if James reaches six titles won at some point in his career, his NBA Finals record (currently 4-6) is not one to be proud of with the scales always tilting in favor of the undefeated Jordan (6-0).
This is an endless debate that will go on forever, with it becoming more of a generational thing rather than comparing these superstars.
It’ll be interesting to see how the narrative changes in the years to come, with James intent on continuing his career in the league and his pursuit of six titles.
