The New York Knicks have plenty of reasons to celebrate after their successful season.

They made the Eastern Conference semifinals and surprised many outsiders with their play.

Many of their offseason moves panned out and the Knicks are hoping to take it a step further next year.

But the most recent reason to celebrate for the Knicks is because of Patrick Ewing’s birthday.

The NBA Hall of Famer turned 61 years old on Saturday.

He was an 11x All-Star, 2x Olympic Gold Medalist, and NBA Hall of Famer.

Also, many people view Ewing as the best player in Knicks’ history.

Ewing spent 15 of his 17 seasons as a member of the Knicks.

He averaged 22.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks in his career as a Knick.

For being the first overall pick in the 1985 NBA draft, Ewing lived up to the hype.

After his playing career, Ewing spent time as the head basketball coach at Georgetown University.

But in six seasons at his alma mater, Ewing had a record of 75-109 and was fired.

He will forever be an important part of the Knicks’ history.

Plus, you can still see him at Madison Square Garden for some of their games.

Having to play in New York is not for everyone.

But Ewing thrived under the pressure and become one of the best players in the NBA.

He is a member of the 75th-anniversary team and will forever play a large part in the history of their franchise.
