The New England Patriots will be put under the microscope during the upcoming 2023 NFL season, with legendary head coach Bill Belichick potentially on the hot seat and quarterback Mac Jones needing to prove that last year’s performance was not on him, as the lack of an offensive coordinator was costly to his development.

Obviously, in order for Jones to show that last season wasn’t a sign of things to come in his NFL career, the offensive line in New England has to be up to snuff.

Currently, the offensive line for the Patriots is not ideal, as it has become the talk of training camp for New England, with some concern about whether it will be able to hold up during the upcoming season.

On Monday, Jones talked about what he’s seen from the offensive line thus far and seems confident that it will be okay moving forward, with a true test being during games in the preseason, via NBC Sports Boston’s Patriots Coverage on Twitter.

“I think the offensive line is doing great… a game is a game so we’ve got to see what everyone is made of there.”

Obviously, Jones is not going to say anything bad about the players that are paid to protect him up front, nor should he, even though they might not be up to par during the 2023 campaign.

Jones’ success during the upcoming season may be directly connected to the offensive line and whether he can get the protection needed to move the chains by throwing the ball downfield or handing it off to one of the running backs.

It’ll be interesting to see if Jones can return to Pro Bowl form from his rookie season and get this offense back on track while competing in a tough AFC East division.
