The Cincinnati Bengals began training camp with a less-than-ideal injury to Joe Burrow.

He was carted off the field and has since been diagnosed with a calf injury.

This has put his status for the 2023 season in danger, as many believe he’ll miss some regular season contests.

Ja’Marr Chase recently discussed Burrow’s injury on a segment of ‘Up and Adams.’

He called Burrow “hard-headed,” adding that Burrow is a “tough person, he’s trying to give his heart to the team and you can’t blame him for that.”

Despite Burrow’s desire to return to play, Chase did mention that he’s okay with Burrow taking his time.

He said, “100% health is crucial” for Burrow.

Burrow tore his ACL during his rookie year.

He bounced back in a big way, making it to the AFC Championship in back-to-back seasons.

Now that he’s nursing another leg injury, his teammates and coaches want him to make sure he’s 100% before returning to play.

If he rushes back, Burrow could find himself in an even worse position, potentially missing even more games than he anticipated.

The Bengals’ first two regular season games are against the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.

Divisional games are important, as they help give you a leg-up for a postseason berth.

If Burrow misses one or both of these games, the Bengals’ season could start with an uphill climb.

When will Burrow feel healthy enough to return to the field for an organization that relies heavily on his production?
