MLB Insider Reveals Schedule For First Two Postseason Rounds

The postseason schedule has been revealed.

In less than two months, the regular season will be over, and it will be time for October baseball.

Today, Major League Baseball revealed the schedule for the postseason.

Come October, only 12 of the 30 MLB teams will still be playing.

The postseason was expanded from 10 teams to 12 teams last year as part of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The top two division winners receive byes to the Division Series, while the lowest-seeded division winner faces off against the third Wild Card while the top two Wild Cards battle it out in a three-game series, with the higher seed hosting all three games.

On Twitter, Bob Nightengale revealed a portion of the schedule.

The portion revealed shows the schedule for the Wild Card Series and the Division Series.

All four Wild Card Series matchups will take place from October 3-5.

After an off-day, Game 1 of all four Division Series matchups will take place on Saturday, October 7.

The National League side will get a day off in between Games 1 and 2.

If necessary, Game 5 of the ALDS will take place on Friday, October 13 after an off-day following Game 4, while Game 5 of the NLDS will take place the following day.

All Wild Card Series matchups will be on ESPN platforms.

Once the Division Series matchups begin, the American League’s games will air on FOX Sports or FS1 while the National League’s games air on TBS.

There are less than two months left in the season, and it should be exciting as we get closer to October.
