The Pittsburgh Steelers were one of the best teams in the NFL every year when Ben Roethlisberger was leading the charge under center, as the team always seemed to have a competitive squad on both sides of the football.
Since Roethlisberger’s retirement, the Steelers have been able to fly under the radar, as the three other teams in the AFC North have gotten all the attention for being legitimate playoff teams, with some of them being legitimate Super Bowl title contenders.
Coming into the 2023 NFL season, the Steelers aren’t expected to do much, with quarterback Kenny Pickett still getting comfortable as Roethlisberger’s successor and the team being a borderline playoff team if everything goes right in Pittsburgh.
Fortunately, the franchise has a lot of faith in Pickett moving forward, who is building some much-needed chemistry with his receiving corps and, most notably, wide receiver George Pickens.
During an interview with NFL Network, Pickett talked about connecting with Pickens and how he’s looking to get him the ball as often as possible.

Pickett makes it clear that if Pickens is in a 1-on-1 situation downfield, he will try to get him the football, as that is an advantage for the Steelers more often than not.
Fortunately for Pickett, the Steelers have a talented group of receivers headlined by Pickens, Diontae Johnson, and veteran newcomer Allen Robinson II.
Pittsburgh also has a star in the making at the tight end position with Pat Freiermuth, so Pickett will have no shortage of reliable weapons in the passing game heading into the 2023 campaign.
