Josh Jacobs has been absent from the Las Vegas Raiders‘ training camp.

He began the offseason thinking that the organization would sign him to a long-term deal after placing the franchise tag on him.

After not receiving a contract, Jacobs left team facilities and hasn’t been spotted since.

When asked about Jacobs’ potential return to the field, running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu said, “He’s a pro, he’s in his fifth year” per Tashan Reed of the Athletic.

#Raiders RB coach Kennedy Polamalu when asked if it would be difficult for Josh Jacobs to pick up to speed after missing training camp: “He’s a pro. He’s in his fifth year. He knows how to take care of his body and go from there.”

Polamalu also said, “He knows how to take care of his body and go from there.”

These comments are cryptic, as he didn’t give a straight answer about Jacobs’ future with the team.

Many believe these are just canned responses from Polamalu and seem to be non-committal.

If Jacobs doesn’t make his way back to the Raiders, they could be in serious trouble for the 2023 season.

Jacobs led the team in rushing last year and was a massive part of the Raiders’ offense.

That was with Derek Carr, who has been a staple of the organization for several years.

Now that he’s gone, the offense will look significantly different with Jimmy Garoppolo at the helm.

With one of their top offensive players also in a difficult spot, it could be another rough season for the Raiders.

Ameer Abdullah and Zamir White are currently behind Jacobs on the depth chart.

Will either one of them be an adequate fill-in as the two parties work tirelessly to find a resolution?

Several questions remain for this team with less than a month to go until the regular season.
