By now, the news of the suspension of Baltimore Orioles TV announcer Kevin Brown has become a national story.

Every fan, announcer, and media member has become aware of what took place.

Brown was discussing the fact that the Orioles had fared better on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays this year than in the past, recalling that Tropicana Field had once been their house of horrors.

This is what ultimately got Brown suspended from his role.

With the entire sports world now in the know on this issue, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic chimed in on the matter and discussed his opinion, via “Foul Territory” this week.

“There’s sensitivity and there’s absurdity, and this was absurdity.”@Ken_Rosenthal on how the Orioles ownership looks after the suspension of Kevin Brown.

Rosenthal commented on the fact that when ownership groups of any team act in this manner, they present themselves in a negative light, and that this is the picture that Orioles owner John Angelos has painted of the organization.

The esteemed MLB writer noted that he hasn’t heard anybody, whether it be fans, announcers, writers, or reporters celebrating the fact that Brown was suspended and believing he deserved the punishment he received.

Rosenthal says that he doesn’t understand how certain owners don’t seem to grasp that their actions reflect their organizations.

Angelos’ actions have certainly painted a negative picture of the Orioles organization and ownership group.

Rosenthal noted that often times, owners will be overly sensitive about certain things, but also stated that there’s a difference between sensitivity and absurdity.

He closed his statement by saying that the way the Orioles have acted qualifies as absurdity.
