Regardless of everything he’s accomplished since he entered the NBA two decades ago, LeBron James continues to be a somewhat polarizing player.
Even some of his haters who acknowledge him as one of the greatest players of all time have also stated that he’s no longer a top-10 player in the league.
Truth be told, no player with 20 seasons under his belt should even be a part of that conversation, but James is measured by a different standard.
With that in mind, NBA 2K stirred the pot once again by giving him one of the highest ratings in the upcoming NBA 2K24 edition of the video game, which led to fans sharing their opinions on social media about this.

Truth be told, LeBron has done more than enough to be a perennial 99 player, and he has a big-enough fanbase that would agree with that.
On the other hand, this game isn’t about what a player has done in the past, but what he’s accomplished lately.
And the hard truth is that James is no longer a 96-caliber player, which is perfectly fine and understandable at this point in his career.
He’s only getting that rating because of his fame in the league, and while he should still be the best player on one of the best teams in the league, we can all agree that it was a bit of a reach.
Then again, James has defied Father Time so many times that it wouldn’t be shocking to see him live up to that rating next season.
