The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the most criticized teams throughout the 2023 NFL offseason.
Many have cited Dak Prescott’s limitations, and the team’s general lack of deep postseason runs.
However, in a recent segment of ‘Speak’ on FS1, Joy Taylor asked a similar question about the San Francisco 49ers.
“I’m confident they can get to an NFC Championship game,” Taylor said.

While this may seem like a strong, declarative statement, she ended the sentence with “That’s good.. right?”
This is similar criticism the Cowboys have received throughout the offseason.
Many believe the Cowboys have a great roster, and will likely make it to the postseason.
However, the NFL doesn’t hand out participation trophies.
In Taylor’s mind, the 49ers should be given similar treatment, given their lack of Super Bowl appearances.
“They. don’t have a quarterback!” Taylor later said of the 49ers.
While Brock Purdy may have inspired confidence in some, Taylor indicated that, while the 49ers won games under him, they were against inferior opponents.
During Purdy’s 5-0 run as the starter to close out the regular season, the 49ers did not play a team that made the playoffs.
It appears that Taylor and the rest of the FS1 crew would like to see more out of Purdy before giving him high praise.
Throughout this segment, Taylor continued to highlight the 49ers’ roster as a whole, as their talent is undeniable.
She’s simply saying that the team is missing an “it” factor at the quarterback position, and believes their ceiling is capped.
