The expectations for Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs are very big.
In fact, they are almost as big as his NBA 2K24 rating.
Wembanyama’s rating was revealed on Thursday, as marketing director Ronnie 2K hand-delivered the score to the rookie star.
Wembanyama pulled off an 84, which he seemed quite happy with.
He should be since that’s the highest ever for a rookie entering the league.

At the end of the video, Wembanyama assured fans that that number would be higher when his first season concluded.
After seeing the French player participate in a couple of Summer League games, fans are quite sure that is likely.
Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans once held the record for the highest 2K rating for a rookie with an 81.
Wembanyama beats that – and he also wants to surpass Williamson’s first season too.
He is already the most important part of the Spurs’ lineup and all eyes will be on him when the new season kicks off.
This summer, Spurs followers watched closely as he played in two Summer League games.
He was only average during the first game but came out swinging during the second, scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds.
That was just a taste of what he will be capable of nightly, some said.
A lot is riding on Wembanyama.
In fact, rarely has a team’s entire future rested so much on one player.
It might take him some time, but Wembanyama wants to deliver on all of his promises.
If not, fans will be utterly heartbroken, and his 2K score will plummet.
