The Houston Texans have made several changes to their roster during the 2023 offseason.
One of the largest changes was at quarterback, seeing as they took C.J. Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
They also took a chance on Tank Dell, a widely-debated prospect given his height of five-foot-eight.
If his first preseason performance is any indication, Dell might just carve out a role for himself in this offense.
After his great first game, head coach Demeco Ryans said, “He can be an explosive playmaker for us,” per the NFL’s website.

Dell was a third-round selection for the Texans.
Stroud reportedly hand-selected Dell, hoping the organization would draft him as one of his receiving options for this season.
Last night, Dell finished the game with five receptions for 65 yards, adding a highlight-reel touchdown catch.
The Texans are lacking star power at receiver, as their depth chart is relatively thin at the moment.
If Dell can continue to improve, and develop a relationship with Stroud, there’s reason to believe he’ll be among their target leaders.
Ryans also said “I can’t wait to see what we do together,” indicating that he’s nowhere close to done with Dell.
The Texans’ roster is filled with young players, which could make for an exciting season.
Whether they’ll be able to turn their excitement into meaningful wins is a different story.
What is the ceiling for this Stroud-led Texans team that has struggled to gain traction since the departure of Deshaun Watson?
