Several years ago, the Cleveland Browns hoped they had finally found their franchise quarterback of the future when they drafted Johnny Manziel.
He put up excellent numbers in college at Texas A&M, but there were multiple red flags that suggested he may flame out at the next level.
That’s exactly what happened, as poor play and a number of self-inflicted wounds resulted in his NFL career lasting just two seasons.
Not long after leaving the Browns, Manziel dropped by to say hello to commentator Skip Bayless during a taping of “Cold as Balls,” and Bayless says he now feels it was a “quiet cry for help” from the quarterback.

Bayless says it looked as if Manziel had lost a lot of weight and that he appeared pale and weak.
In Cleveland, his attitude was suspect from day one, and he was involved in several off-the-field incidents that led to the team cutting ties with him following the 2015 season.
In his two years there, he had a grand total of 1,675 passing yards, seven touchdown passes, seven interceptions, and a 57.0 percent completion rate.
Since then, Manziel has bounced around the pro football landscape, playing for several minor leagues, including the Canadian Football League, and he most recently suited up for a league known as Fan Controlled Football.
The Browns have not been a good team for most of the last few decades, as they have had a number quarterback’s come and go.
However, this could be the season in which they truly turn things around, as they have an excellent signal-caller in Deshaun Watson and plenty of talent on both sides of the football.
