The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a spectacular campaign.

The only two things that went wrong last season were Jalen Hurts’ injury late in the regular campaign, and letting a big lead slip right through their fingers in the Super Bowl.

But now that Jonathan Gannon is no longer in town to let his defense get run off the field by Patrick Mahomes, things could be better for the Birds, especially if Hurts continues his development and meteoric rise.

That’s why Courtney Cronin of ESPN believes Hurts is going to win MVP next season, as he already showed what he was capable of last year and will only get better with more experience and confidence.

Cronin claimed that it was a close MVP race last season and stated that Hurts would’ve won the award if it wasn’t for that injury, and she may have a valid point.

The Eagles were the undisputed best team in the league for the best part of the campaign, and Hurts’ numbers obviously had plenty to do with that.

Some are worried about a potential regression now that he’s signed one of the most lucrative deals in sports history.

But even if he already got his payday, Hurts has yet to win the ultimate prize, so the motivation should still be at an all-time high.

Also, his work ethic and leadership skills make us feel like he’s not the kind of guy who’ll stop pushing as hard as he can just because he already got his contract.
