The defending World Series champion Houston Astros are back in familiar territory this year.
Once again, the Astros are on track to make a push towards the postseason and make a run at a World Series title.
They currently sit at 66-50 and hold the second Wild Card spot in the American League.
Kyle Tucker is one of Houston’s key contributors and he has been leading the way for Houston this season.
Tucker is a two-time All-Star and helped guide Houston to their second World Series title last October.
On Friday, MLB Network insider Jon Morosi discussed Tucker’s impact and stated that now is the time the Astros should consider giving him a contract extension.

Morosi believes that Tucker is on track to get a solid extension from the Astros.
However, he joked that he becomes “more expensive by the home run.”
He recalled comments made by Astros General Manager Dana Brown about how he wanted Tucker to be with the Astros for the remainder of his career.
Brown clarified those comments by saying that the Astros and Tucker have had a dialogue about a potential extension, but that there hasn’t been a ton of progress.
Morosi states that the Astros are hoping talks gain momentum in the offseason, and that it is clear this is the “pivotal time” for the Astros and Tucker to be discussing an extension.
Given Tucker’s success, he’ll likely command a hefty salary if the Astros can work out an extension with their star right fielder.
