The Seattle Mariners are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the American League.
On Friday night, they defeated the Baltimore Orioles by a final score of 9-2 in their series opener.
Luis Castillo struck out eight batters over six innings of work and allowed just one run on two hits, walking only two batters.
The Mariners got a boost from their offense as well, as Cal Raleigh, Ty France, and Julio Rodriguez all went deep.
As a result, the Mariners won their eighth straight game.
After the game, Rodriguez took a selfie video and thanked Mariners fans for their support, while also telling them to continue bringing the energy to T-Mobile Park every night for the rest of the season.

The Mariners are on a roll right now.
Thanks to their eight-game winning streak, Seattle is now just a half-game behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the third and final Wild Card spot in the American League.
Rodriguez certainly appears to be pleased with the way things are going, as well as the fact that Mariners fans have come out in full force to support their team as they look to reach the postseason for the second consecutive year.
The Mariners are 63-52, and if the winning streak continues, then fans will keep bringing their energy to T-Mobile Park on a nightly basis.
Seattle owns a record of 34-26 at home.
It’s clear that Rodriguez was happy with what he saw from the fans on Friday, as he encouraged them to keep the energy coming in the future.
