The San Antonio Spurs weren’t the most successful franchise in the league by any means.

Then, Gregg Popovich’s scouting and willingness to open doors for foreign players changed everything for the organization.

The trio of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker wound up becoming one of the winningest, most dominant, and most successful in basketball history.

And looking back on his NBA journey, Parker believes it was just because of how easy Duncan and Ginobili made things for him.

In his recent sit-down with Malika Andrews of ESPN, Parker called Duncan the greatest power forward of all time, and Ginobili the most unique player he ever played with.

Popovich is one of the greatest — if not the greatest — coaches of all time.

But as good as he is, the way these three guys meshed on and off the court did wonders for the organization as well.

Parker was never the flashiest guy on the court, but he sacrificed his numbers for the sake of the team multiple times.

Ginobili could’ve started on every single team in the league, yet he embraced a different role because that’s what they needed.

As for Duncan, he could dominate both ends of the floor as few players did, but he never put himself ahead of the team or his teammates.

The Spurs set the standard for what a winning organization should look like, and now, all of their core members are right where they were always destined to be: The Hall of Fame.
