The NFL has seen many great stories about players and their families over the years.

But one of the most impactful was that of former Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Michael Oher.

His story was the inspiration for the movie “The Blindside,” which showed his life leading up to him being drafted.

The movie showed that Oher was adopted by the Tuohy family when he was in high school.

They proceeded to give him everything necessary to be successful as a student and football player.

But, in shocking news, it appears that was all allegedly a lie.

According to Michael Fletcher via Bleacher Report, Oher alleges that the Tuohy family never adopted him.

Michael Oher alleges that a “central element” of ‘The Blindside’ was a lie and Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy never adopted him, per @Fletchpost

It was also reported that the Tuohy family received all of the royalties from the movie while Oher received nothing.

This is a shocking turn of events and one that does not make much sense.

If all of this is true, why did Oher wait so long to say something?

It was because he was unaware that he was not truly adopted.

According to ESPN, the Tuohy family were conservators for Oher and that comes with no familial relationship.

The movie was released in 2009.

So for the last 14 years, this has all been a lie.

Not to mention, it was an Oscar-winning film that earned more than $300 million in revenue.

“The Blind Side” was one of the true feel-good stories and now it may be tarnished.

There is still some investigating that needs to be done but this situation is a disappointing one.
