Not a ton of people are talking about the New Orleans Saints right now, but they could be gearing up for a successful season.
They brought in veteran quarterback Derek Carr during the offseason, and now they have obtained running back Darrel Williams.
Williams spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals, and before that, he was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs for the first four years of his career while earning a Super Bowl championship ring in the 2019 campaign.

The Saints will be facing an obstacle early in the season, as star running back Alvin Kamara will have to serve a three-game suspension for his role in a fight outside of a nightclub in Las Vegas last year.
They also gave themselves some insurance by signing Jamaal Williams, who led the NFL in 2022 with 17 rushing touchdowns while also tallying 1,066 rushing yards.
The arrival of Darrel Williams will give New Orleans additional depth and insurance for what they hope will be a watershed season.
After Drew Brees retired following the 2020 season, they have failed to make the playoffs while being saddled with poor quarterback play.
They had high hopes for Jameis Winston, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2015 draft, but he got injured last season, and when he returned, the team opted to stick with veteran Andy Dalton as its starter.
Carr has been named to the Pro Bowl four times and threw for 4,804 yards in 2021, and he represents a major upgrade under center.
In addition, the Saints are hopeful that wide receiver Michael Thomas, who led everyone in receiving yards in 2019, will finally stay healthy and return to form.
