Tampa Bay Rays infielder Wander Franco, who is currently being investigated by MLB for an alleged relationship with a minor, could be facing additional trouble according to recent reports.
Last week, a series of social media posts involving the player suggested he might have been in a relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
The Rays have been cooperating with MLB and the two parties (Franco and the team) mutually agreed for him to go on the restricted list, sidelining him for at least six games while the league investigates.
Now, however, Franco might be facing a complaint filed by another minor.
“The Attorney General of the Dominican Republic says that there is a complaint filed by a minor against Wander Franco. According to the Attorney General of the DR, it’s another young woman, not the one on social media, per

The Rays have declined to explain further details about the situation until MLB concludes its investigation.
“We support any steps taken by the league to better understand the situation,” the team said later on Monday about the league investigation. “Out of respect for all parties involved, we have no further comments at this time.”
For now, they will be without their best player as they navigate through the rest of the season, looking to secure a playoff spot.
Franco was hitting .281 with 17 homers and 58 RBI this year and has been the most productive player on the field for his organization.
He hasn’t always been the best teammate, which among other things resulted in a two-game benching in late June.
