For whatever reason, the NFL continues to conduct joint practices, even though we see brawls and fights every year.

Washington Commanders HC Ron Rivera reportedly urged his players not to get tangled up in any altercation, but it seems like some of them didn’t get the memo.

As usually happens at this point in the year, intense practices against a rival led to tense moments between the Commanders and Baltimore Ravens, with multiple incidents that almost led to an all-out brawl between both teams.

As reported by Arye Pulli, PFF, The Daily Raven, and Dov Kleiman, things escalated quickly when Ravens wide receiver Tylan Wallace got into it with Commanders CB Emmanuel Forbes.

Wallace caught a pass near the sidelines, and when Forbes repeatedly tried to punch the ball out, a jab was thrown at him.

The first-round pick responded with a punch of his own, and the benches cleared shortly after.

Then, Ravens TE Mark Andrews body-slammed Danny Johnson to the ground following a dropped pass, and things got pretty heated again.

Fortunately, it seems like eventually, both coaching staffs were able to control their respective players, as you never want to see avoidable injuries at this point in the season.

Notably, these teams are set to take the field on Monday night for the preseason, so let’s hope there aren’t any more incidents to report at the time, as both teams are looking to make a big splash in the upcoming campaign and need to be at full strength.
