During his 11 years in the NBA, Austin Rivers has made friendships, and rivalries, with many players.
That means he has first-hand knowledge of their abilities and skills.
So, when he lists his top-seven players currently in the league, people pay attention.
The Ringer, via ClutchPoints, shared a video of Rivers listing his seven-best current NBA players.
At the top of the list was the reigning champion, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
He was followed by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and finally, LeBron James.

Rivers opened up a bit about his selection of James.
He said that some people might question that choice because of his age but Rivers believes that the Los Angeles Lakers made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals because James willed it.
The rest of this list is a who’s who of some of the biggest stars in the league.
It’s not surprising that he chose Jokic for the number one spot.
Most NBA fans can agree that Jokic is unlike any other player in the league and is a generational talent.
His championship win is just the latest proof of that.
Rivers actually got to see Jokic’s skills up close, as he played for the Nuggets from 2020 to 2022.
While he got to literally play alongside Jokic, he has admired the rest of the players on this list from afar, or as he has competed against them.
Rivers last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves but his future in the league is currently up in the air and no one knows where he will land next.
