Things keep going from bad to worse for the New York Yankees.

On Wednesday night, they suffered a 2-0 loss to the Atlanta Braves.

Now, New York has fallen below the .500 mark, as they sit at 60-61.

They also remain in the basement of the American League East, with a division title almost certainly out of reach.

It was their fifth consecutive loss dating back to last Saturday against the Miami Marlins.

On Twitter, MLB on FOX posted some grim stats which show just how lost the Yankees are after having fallen below the .500 mark with just over a month to go in the season.

With tonight’s loss to the Braves, the Yankees are now under .500 at 60-61.

The last time the Yankees finished under .500 was in 1992.

This is the latest in a season the Yankees have been under .500 since September 1995.

New York did manage to reach the postseason as a Wild Card that year, but things are looking pretty bleak in the Bronx right now.

They sit at a manageable 6.5 games back in the Wild Card race, but time is running out for the Yankees, who are coming off of a 99-win season and a trip to the ALCS.

Even after re-signing Aaron Judge and bringing in Carlos Rodon, New York has not had a pleasant 2023 season.

And their season continues to go off the rails.

Even the Boston Red Sox, who have spent most of the season in last place, are starting to separate themselves from the Yankees.

At the moment, the Yankees also have a -14 run differential, and with time running out, things aren’t looking very good.
