The San Francisco 49ers seem to be in Super Bowl contention every season.

Part of that is because they have a great coach and consistently have one of the best rosters in the NFL.

The only spot that has held them back from winning a Super Bowl is quarterback.

Jimmy Garoppolo was their longtime starter but he is now in Las Vegas.

So, the 49ers are having a quarterback competition this summer to decide who will be the Week 1 starter.

Among the options are Trey Lance, Sam Darnold, and former seventh-round pick Brock Purdy.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky was asked on “First Take” if he thinks Purdy can lead this team to the Super Bowl.

He said he is “100%” confident that Purdy can lead the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

The only question marks Orlovsky had for Purdy are if can he replicate his success from last year and if he can stay healthy.

Purdy came into the NFL as the last pick in the NFL Draft.

Opposing defenses had no clue what they were lining up against when they faced Purdy.

But, having eight games of tape on Purdy will help opposing teams gameplan for him this year.

It was also shocking that Orlovsky mentioned he thinks Darnold could lead the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

Darnold has been bad with every team he has played on but Orlovsky seems to think he is the best pure passer on the 49ers roster.
