The Miami Heat got a special leader when they signed Jimmy Butler.
Dwyane Wade knew he was the perfect guy for their project and their culture as soon as he got to know him, and he made sure to convince him of the same.
Butler had already made a name for himself as a strong competitor, but he had also earned a bit of a bad rap as a toxic teammate, so he had a lot of work to do to change that image of him.
And he definitely succeeded, as Andre Iguodala recently compared him to the likes of Kobe Bryant.
In the latest edition of Gilbert Arenas’ Gil’s Arena, the four-time NBA champion raved about his former teammate’s determination and killer mentality, stating that he’s the closest he’s ever seen to Kobe Bryant in terms of always finding ways to win.
“He’s probably the closest that I’ve seen to Kobe Bryant with that mentality of just man, Jimmy will figure out a way for us to win. I’ve never seen a will like that.”

Butler has made it loud and clear that he could care less about the regular season, stating that he’s confident enough in his game and his teammates to beat every single team in a seven-game series.
Whether it’s at home or on the road, Butler’s presence will always give the Heat a chance to win in the postseason.
And even though he has failed to lead them to an NBA championship thus far, the Heat have made it to the NBA Finals twice in four years despite having way less talent than other teams, and Butler is the last guy you would want to go against when you’re in the playoffs.
