Back at Busch Stadium for the first time since Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series last October, New York Mets starter Jose Quintana made himself right at home.
The veteran left-hander spent the back half of the 2022 season with the St. Louis Cardinals and helped guide them to a division title, but joined the Mets over the winter on a two-year, $26 million deal.
Quintana didn’t skip a beat, holding his former team to two runs on three hits over six innings, walking four and recording five strikeouts.
After his outing was through, SNY, the TV home of the Mets, posted a graphic featuring his line.

Quintana certainly made himself right back at home in his first start at Busch Stadium since last October.
He out-dueled his former teammate in Adam Wainwright and gave the Mets a truly inspiring performance.
The 34-year-old came into his start in St. Louis with a 3.03 ERA, but had yet to win a game.
That all changed on Thursday night as he kept the Cardinals at bay and delivered an important win for the Mets as they claimed the series opener.
Quintana has been out for most of the season recovering from a rib injury he suffered in spring training.
However, he has been every bit as good as advertised since his return and was as consistent as could be on Thursday night against his former team.
It was also career win No. 90 for the veteran left-hander as the Mets came to within 10 games of .500.
