Lance Lynn has had an excellent career in MLB to this point.
He owns a 3.68 ERA, he was a World Series champion with the St. Louis Cardinals as a rookie in 2011, and has been an All-Star twice.
His 2023, however, started off on the wrong foot.
He missed some time with an injury, and posted a ghastly 6.47 ERA with the Chicago White Sox.
He did it in 119.2 innings, which is definitely not a small sample.
But the Los Angeles Dodgers were there to save his career.
The 36-year-old righty was traded to LA, and has done nothing but dominate in four stars there.

As MLB Network illustrates, the Dodgers are 4-0 in Lynn’s starts since he landed in town, and the pitcher himself is 3-0 in those outings.
He has a strikeout per inning (25) and has conceded just 17 hits.
In Chicago, he allowed 130 hits in 119.2 frames.
Something has clearly changed: he is the same pitcher, with the same age and wear and tear on his body.
According to Eric Samulski of Rotoworld, the Dodgers implemented some changes in his pitch mix to unlock his success.
“Who would have seen that coming? The Dodgers have basically scrapped Lynn’s cutter and had him rely on the four-seam. Slightly upped the SL and CU as well,” he tweeted.

The four-seam fastball has always been Lynn’s best offering, so having him throw it more was a no-brainer.
He also has a good slider and curveball combo, which gives hitters more looks, speeds, and pitch movement patterns to worry about.
The Dodgers have gotten Lynn back on track, and they appear to have an ace for the stretch run and the postseason.
They have done it again.
