The schedule for the 2023-24 NBA season is now out, and as always, there are some quirks and oddities for some teams.
While there are squads that are crying foul over some very difficult stretches, others are grateful that they will have a long slate of home games at some points of the season.
For the Utah Jazz, the big quirk on their schedule is that for the first time in 22 years, they will play a regular season game at home on a Sunday.
That contest will take place versus Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and the new-look Phoenix Suns.
The Jazz haven’t played a regular season game at home on Sunday since Jan. 21, 2001, a win over the Phoenix Suns.

Interestingly, as Sarah Todd pointed out, Utah’s last Sunday home regular season game was also against Phoenix back in 2001.
Last season, the Jazz were expected to be a bad team after they traded away All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.
But they got off to a 10-3 start, and even though they fizzled out shortly afterward, they were in contention for a spot in the play-in tournament until late in the season.
Utah does have some talent, starting with forward Lauri Markkanen, who was a first-time All-Star last year, and guard Jordan Clarkson has given them plenty of pop offensively.
In addition, the team is high on big man Walker Kessler, who was the No. 22 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
The Jazz likely won’t make the playoffs this coming season, but the future could be bright for them, as they have a treasure chest of draft picks they obtained for Gobert and Mitchell, and perhaps at least one of them will yield another All-Star.
