The NFL preseason is a time when fans get to see many young players play.
Almost every rookie who was just drafted gets their first chance to show what they can do against NFL competition.
One position that everyone is looking forward to seeing is the quarterback spot.
We have seen rookie quarterbacks have successful preseasons in the past and have that carry over into the real games.
Like when Dak Prescott was selected in the fourth round by the Dallas Cowboys.
He showed out in the preseason and ended up winning Rookie of the Year.
The talk around Las Vegas Raiders camp has been about the play of rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell.
He has been great for the Raiders in the preseason and he reminds Tom Pelissero of Tom Brady.
Pelissero went on “The Herd” to discuss the hype around O’Connell and his future in the NFL.
“Who does that sound like the profile on? Another guy who went later in the draft — Tom Brady.”

Even though O’Connell will be a backup to start this season it would not surprise anyone if he gets a chance to play.
Jimmy Garoppolo is the starter in Las Vegas and he is someone that is known for getting injured.
So if he were to go down, O’Connell would be thrust in and have an opportunity to show what he can do.
Even though Garoppolo signed a three-year deal with the Raiders, he will have to earn that job each season.
Do not be surprised if O’Connell is good enough to take the job from Jimmy G in the coming years.
