Each NFL team and coaching staff handles the preseason differently.

Some teams think playing the starters is valuable, while others do not want to risk injury to their most important players.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and head coach Doug Pederson believe the former.

They played their starters in the first preseason game and will do the same thing in the third and final one.

According to James Palmer, Pederson announced that the plan is to play the starters in their final preseason game.

This will be another chance for Trevor Lawrence and company to get prepared for Week 1.

It will be a dress rehearsal for the starters before they get set for the season opener on September 10.

More than likely we will not see the starters for more than one quarter.

But, even a little bit of live action could pay dividends in Week 1.

Last season, the Jags were one of the surprise teams in the NFL.

After starting the season 4-7, they were able to win six of their last seven games to make the playoffs.

Then they came back from down 27-0 in their first playoff game to stun the Los Angeles Chargers.

But, their season ended when they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional round.

This year the Jaguars will not be a team that sneaks up on anyone.

They are expected to be one of the best in the NFL and many think they can make a run at the AFC title.

As long as Lawrence is under center, they should be a threat in the AFC.
