Bobby Witt Jr. is quickly becoming one of baseball’s most well-rounded shortstops.

In just his second season, he has put up some truly fantastic numbers.

The 23-year-old is hitting .281 with 25 home runs, 80 RBI, and an OPS of .824.

He also made some history on Monday night as the Kansas City Royals faced off against the Oakland Athletics.

The young slugger became the fifth shortstop in Major League history to hit 25 home runs and steal at least 35 bases in the same season, with a minimum of 75 percent of his games being played at the shortstop position.

On Twitter, the MLB podcast “Talkin’ Baseball” posted this interesting fact about Witt.

Witt has stolen 37 bases so far this season.

And with just over a month left in the regular season, there is time for Witt to add to his already impressive resume.

He isn’t too far off from 30 homers, which would put him in the 30-30 club for the first time in his career.

Witt was selected by the Royals with the second overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft and made his Major League debut last year on Opening Day.

Since then, he has blossomed into one of the finest young players in all of baseball.

Witt possesses elite power and speed, which makes him a unique type of player.

Soon, he may find himself in the 30-30 club.

All it takes now for him to achieve that is five more home runs.

We’ll see what the rest of the season has in store for the Royals’ star shortstop.
