The Boston Celtics are a team that was expected to do big things last season as one of the best all-around squads in the NBA, led by superstar forward Jayson Tatum.
Although the Celtics were able to make it back to the Eastern Conference Finals, Boston went up against a hungry Miami Heat team that defied the odds from start to finish in the NBA playoffs.
The eighth-seeded Miami squad led by Jimmy Butler went on to beat Boston in seven games and advance to the NBA Finals, leaving the Celtics to wonder what the team had to do to take the next step and come out on top in the Eastern Conference.
Well, it appears that Tatum is already back in the gym and is sharing some court time with another NBA superstar in the East, Joel Embiid.

Interestingly enough, Embiid and Tatum are in similar positions in the East, with the Philadelphia 76ers also looking for a recipe for success after falling short in the playoffs.
As for the Celtics, Boston was able to make one major acquisition this summer by trading for star forward Kristaps Porzingis, formerly of the Washington Wizards.
Although Porzingis is an instant upgrade offensively, it remains to be seen if this addition will be enough to take the Celtics over the top.
