A couple of years ago, the NBA was in awe of LeBron James’ heroics, and not just on the court.
A story about him saving Carmelo Anthony on vacation made the rounds, and his evergrowing fanbase couldn’t be prouder.
Apparently, James jumped onto the ocean to drag a struggling Melo back to safety, getting him back to their boat unharmed.
That’s why the former New York Knicks star had to set the record straight and tell it as it is.
In a recent interview for Overtime, Melo cleared the air and let it be known that he wasn’t fighting for his life or anything like that, even though people make it seem like he was on his deathbed or something.

He revealed that he was swimming and snorkeling, and once he came back up, he realized he had been swimming in the wrong direction and was getting away from the boat.
Then, LeBron jumped into the water and helped him get back on the boat, but he claims that he would’ve been able to do it on his own; it just would’ve taken longer.
Melo admits that he was swimming against the current, but it’s not like it was a tsunami or anything like that.
He also jokingly said that Dwyane Wade didn’t come to rescue him because he wouldn’t jump in the water, adding that Chris Paul could’ve also joined to help; it just happened to be LeBron.
